Below are a few images of some shop time results ![]() Cedar Top, Green abalam rosette Other side - Italian Top with Snakewood ring installed, Red Heart Ab is next, followed by an inner and outer b/w/b on each side of the snakewood. |

WOnder if you could share some details on how you made the Snakewood rosette. Was it one piece or did you piece together strips, and if so, how did you do that? I love the end result. Thanks |

Thanks Guys - its two slices, bookmatched, if you look near the gap in the shell you can see a little sapwood, thats the area of the join. I did this the same way I did the last flamed maple rosette, just cut out the circle at .060 deap using my stewmac dremel tool. .060 did not cut all the way through, so after I have the circle cut, I run the whole rosette blank through my thickness sander until the it lets the circle loose, thats when the entire blank reaches .060 or so. make sence> ![]() |
